Yes.. she's my next blk neighbour.. an 83 y.o lady... she was crossing the road to take a bus to the market to meet her daughter for dinner.. the market is one bus stop away..

probably her legs are too weak to walk that distance..

the traffic police said she did not use the traffic light hence the motorcyclist isnt at fault...

but for 16 years staying in Bishan, i never use the traffic light too because it is simply too far away.. bad traffic design...

anyway the motorcyclist, an 18 yo boy, will feel guilty for the rest of his life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this incident will haunt him forever!!!

a traffic accident happened at the road in front of my house. it involved a motorcyclist and an old lady. i was in a car when i saw the old lady lying on the road, eyes open, in a pool of blood.. she died.

I suspect she's my next blk neighbour. sigh... my heart just sank =(

I think i need to start disciplining myself to study.. everytime i scroll through my msn list, i would see ppl's nick - - rushing essay or busy with this proj or that etc.. but i m so slack.. i m doing nothing.. and not studying!

simply wasting my time away.. but well at least i printed my lecture notes and some online readings so i should be ready to start next wk..

today i met some ppl in different occupations.... a designer who gave me 4 pairs of sun glasses, and his friend, a hypnotherapist for dinner..

hmm hypnotherapy... $200 per session.. about 1-2 hrs per session.. i'm quite skeptical about its effects but she said people could quit smoking and solve many other problems with the help of hypnotherapy..no harm trying

then we went over to the ritz carlton lobby for drinks... its a nice place... and i met this girl and her friend whose family own the famous biscuits company in Singapore..biscuits which i buy for old folks home when i was in jc haha..

and his friend who is a doctor from HK who came to Sgp for a conference..

sometimes i wonder what lies ahead of me... these days, the people i come into contact are really successful in the things they do.. what would i be? the future is so uncertain...

i dunno

i'm pretty glad i went to school today although i really didnt want to go. josh was in nus too and he bought me coffee powder from bali =)
i went for a project meeting. the project was... i dont want to say anymore. this is probably the only project that i felt ashamed of because it was a bad start. anyway i just aim to get a C since that is the minimum requirement to get a "satisfacory" grade as i m s/uing it.after the project meeting, i went to the CNM office to visit Dr. Millie went with my entrepreneurship society president.
Dr Millie is giving us some cash money out of goodwill to sponsor our trip to China. Well although its a small amount, we're really glad. we bought oreo cheesecake for her in return.i bumped into the lecturer who called me power babe and she said my group's research paper was very well written.i bumped into Gene, who's a really nice lecturer. i asked her if halcyon is leaving nus. she said "yes, thats very sad".
irene had previuously told me that halcyon was leaving nus through msn.i had wanted to go to halcyon's office to have a chat with her, but she wasn't in her office. i feel really down and sad when i heard she is leaving nus. i dunno y. perhaps i felt a connection with her. she is the only lecturer whom i could walk into her office and whine and i m really open with her during our conversation.
she is a person whom i feel comfortable enough to tell her some of my thoughts which i would never share with other lecturers..i took a module on media writing when i was in yr 2. halcyon was one of the tutors introduced by the course lecturer. when i saw her, i thought she looked really unique and special. i guess this is called the connection moment. And she became my tutor. so this is fate. although i didnt enjoy her tutorial lessons as she was very very anal with writing style, but with her, all good things seem to come. my media writing article was published on TCO and she was my academic advisor for an internship module. i was one of the first few students who map an internship to a module. she also actively recommend me all sorts of internship when i voiced my concern about my indecisiveness as to what to work as in future. it is really sad that everything seemed so transient. i mentioned this to josh over msn and he said people come and go, including him.And this reminded me of the many people whom i had known, but whom i had lost along the way. Perhaps these people may not seem significant to me, but i do not know how they feel.likewise, halcyon may think that i m just one of her students, but i feel really down when i know she is leaving. often, many stuff are not within our control. this relates to the movie i just watched with jinwei mark and josh. Lust, Caution. besides the lead actress superb acting skill, and her determination to kill the lead actor , she was finally moved by his true love and did not murder him in the end. sometime feelings just run wild... sigh.. i dunno. i just hope i could meet halcyon before she leaves for the USA. she has told me that she is a PR practioner, and not an academic. i guess she felt its time for her to move on as she may not progress much in NUS. perhaps when u decide to move to the greener pasture, u have to be prepared to leave behind many relationships you've forged. this reminded me of wanjing who stay put in HSA because of her friends, and Nick who remains in Mt Elizabeth after so many years as he enjoyed his companionship with his colleagues. although they may have better career prospect elsewhere. but there are also people like someone whom i knew who mentioned that changes are no big deal as he has lived in the uk and malaysia and singapore and friends come and go.i dunno.... haiya getting too long winded..

Surprise party

Surprise Surprise... Andy turned 25!! And the lovely girls set up a surprise party for him. So fortunate...

I'm 23 already.. turning 24 next yr. Perhaps I should hold a birthday + grad party next May if i decide not to do honours. i never hold a birthday party for myself b4 =) next yr should be the first hehe..

Fruits Tarts

I was studying for an exam with a backache... And I felt so pathetic..

Mike called and said he baked some fruits tarts and wanted to pass some to me. But I couldn't walk to meet him at J8 and hence he met me at the bus stop beside my blk. So sweet of him..

Oh man these tarts looked so beautiful and tasted soooo delicious!

The thickness of the crust is just right. A bite into the vanilla filling in the berries tarts gives a sense of blissfulness..

The lemon tarts were heavenly too... The filling was overwhelmed with lemony flavour but and it was not too sour.

Overall they were really excellent as everything seem to be just right. the sweetness, the sourness and thickness of the crust.

U'll feel happy and delighted eating them. The last time I tasted nice pastry so delicious was in The Marmalade Pantry and Corduroy & Finch.

Power Babe

Power babe is a pitiful babe.

One day when he was chopping onions to prepare his linguine aglio olio, he sneezed too hard and heard a crack sound on his lower back.

Immediately, he felt a piercing pain on his lower back and couldn't stand up straight.

A doctor he consulted refered him to the A&E in SGH... But he couldn't go cos he has an assignment due by tue and an exam on wed.

Hence, this "emergency" case could only be dealt with on Wed..

The doctor who wrote the referal letter opened her eyes big big in shock... She said "you explain to the emergency dept why u took so long to go"... hehe...

Power babe then emailed his favourite tutor in business school and told him that he is on 3 days mc. His fav tutor extended his assignment deadline and mentioned he would miss the babe's presence in class =)

Anyway power babe was bored at home as he didnt dare to leave his house.

He's scared he would fall and not get up. SO embarrasing for a power babe.

He ate a face cookie. So cute! So delicious!
