Swimming Encounter

OMG omg omg... Ok so today after work I went swimming at Shanghai Indoor Swimming Complex. The ticket is damm expensive (30RMB = S$5) and swimmers are only limited to ONE hour! And the pool is a super far 20mins walk from the nearest subway!!!

I felt so pissed off because the pool is small and crowded. I saw horrible people.. Like girls with SUPER HAIRY ARMPIT and this guy wearing goggles which only deep sea divers wear.

I got kicked everywhere.. SO many times... This crazy woman kicked my neck. I still feel the pain.. What a bitch!

Thereafter I went to shower in a common shower area. While I was showering, a guy chatted with me. As it was the damm noisy, I just replied yes to everything and continued showering.

It was only in the changing area that I realised he asked 1) if I'm a swimming instructor and 2) why are there two shades of colour on my skin.

Obviously, he didnt't know Singapore has outdoor pools and swimming under the sun causes tan lines.

I saw him outside the pool again. This time we started introducing ourselves etc etc.. He offered to give me a lift to the nearest subway. When I hop into his car, we started chatting and he turns out to be a surgeon. He's leaving Shanghai soon to do a PhD in Harvard this coming year.

And he owns two hotels =)

He sent me all the way to my apartment! Shiok save transport money. Save time also. He promise to bring me and my friends around Shanghai when he is free.

This is a street near 南京西路 subway... Full of snacks. Very nice =)

Randomness

No more straight guys already.. Poor girls.. Marriage rate dropping, Birth rate dropping...



And I just saw my results.. Same cap score as last sem.. 3.82.. I think I am this standard already.. To pull to 4.00 I need to have 4.18 every sem for the next four semesters. Wonder if I should file for graduation next yr, or do honours and end up with a 2nd Lower..

Dear Whinery,

I've to check in to Shopaholic Anonymous soon. I've been shopping non stop and I felt guilty cos everything is so cheap and alot of cheap things add up to alot of money spent. I've been overspending!!

Till date, I've bought at least 5 shirts, 2 pair of shoes, 1 pair of socks, 1 pair of bermudas, one pair of shades, at least 4 belts, one pair of jeans and etc etc etc etc........ OMG

And I always thought guys who carry handbag have identity crisis cos only girls carry handbag. But I actually bought 2 handbags here. But I do not have an identity crisis =)

This 汤圆 is rated the best in Shanghai too.. My friends love it but I can't appreciate 汤圆.




The dumpling here is so good, it is rated the best in Shanghai. It's sooo sooo sooo sooo nice.. And the 菜包 (veg bun) is so so so so nice and the spring roll is filled with tofu.. Omg heaven! And cheap!

Anyway I felt so guilty eating sparrow meat. Sigh the smell of feather lingered in my mouth for awhile =( PETA is going to come after me.

中山陵 (南京)

Over the weekend, we took a train to Nanjing...

We stayed at Youth hostel. So nice and cosy...

I really love to see the massacre memorial hall but whine it was closed for renovation =(

We went to 中山陵 (zong shan ling) for a history tour. So expensive! The entrance ticket cost RMB130! 中山陵 is a mountain. Within the mountain lies many tombs. I cant really appreciate history stuff.... But well... it was an interesting place nonetheless.

It was such a tiring trip. Walked until my hip bone and knee felt like they are breaking apart. And it was such a hot day. And my jeans felt loose the day after =)

Of course, shopping in Nanjing was superb! Bought three belts (about 8 to 10RMB each) (brown, black, white) bought a pair of shades (20 RMB), one pair of jeans (50RMB) and one really retro-looking long sleeve shirt (60RMB).

How exciting,,, me and Bridget shopped and bargained until the shops were all closed...Divide the price by 5 to convert to Sing dollars.
