Shopping
Today was one whole day of shopping. We tried the small restaurant near our apartment. As usual, dirt cheap.
We took a train to 4 stops from the MRT nearest to my apartment. Pardon me, but I forgot where I shopped. I only remember its near Xin Tian Di. I still haven’t got used to remembering road names in Chinese.
An intern who is a Shanghainese, became our guide naturally.
You can shop till you drop dead and resurrect a few times and U still can’t finish shopping in that area. Some stuff are nice and expensive. Others cheap and unsightly. Well since this is China, I am definitely going to get cheap and nice stuff!

It was beautiful at night when the lights are up. Dinner was good and it was again DIRT CHEAP. Ok I shall stop saying the food is dirt cheap.
I bought a pair of Bermudas from H&M. According to my course mate cum colleague, my social psychology lecturer Prof Lim Sun Sun from last semester mentioned that this store sells nice clothes from the UK at a reasonable price. Ok I didn’t know cos I skipped some lectures and were late for others.
So I bought a pair of Bermudas for RMB 199. It’s like S$40. Not cheap I know. But I love it. I bought a pre paid card too. I didn’t realise my Mandarin was so bad until I spoke to the customer service officer.
I don’t quite know how to express myself in Mandarin and can’t understand what she said anyway. I didn’t know what’s the Chinese name for international roaming and I didn’t know the Chinese name for sim card. I didn’t know how to say activate also. I wanted to say “Please activate my new sim card for international roaming” In the end I pass the phone to Terrence for his kind help.
I enjoyed today totally!!! Good company, good shopping, good food! Oh and so exciting, this weekend we are planning a trip to Nan Jing. One of the objectives is to visit the museum which exhibits stuff from the Nanjing massacre during WW II.
I read books by Iris Chang, Finally waiting to see the real stuff.
And work starts tomorrow. So irritating! My Main objective is Shopping and Sight seeing. Work is secondary actually.
