Greetings from Shanghai

Oh how I miss whining on this iconic whinery, famous in Singapore and soon, Shanghai!

The flight to shanghai included a transit in Hong Kong. HK was so hazy. My colleagues and I thought we were still among the clouds when suddenly the wheels hit the runway.

Three of my colleagues were from my tutorial class last semester! I didn’t even know they were coming for this internship as I didn’t attend the briefing back in SG. However, one went over to Tianjin after arriving HK.

There was another undergrad from CNM, one from Economics, two from NUS engine, one from NTU engine and three from University of Southern California.

Including me, this Shanghai team has 11 interns. In addition, there are about two or three interns in Tianjin and another two or three interns in Singapore.

Together, we would be bouncing aound ideas from Singapore, Shanghai and Tianjin.

Ok, thereafter was a transit to Shanghai. We were picked up by the driver to our apartment.
The apartment is located above a big shopping centre, 3mins walk from the MRT (Shang Hai Huo Che Zhan) and surrounded by quite a few shopping malls and many food places.

The lobby of the apartment was sooo nice. OMG! But the apartment was so so only la.. Two guys in a room. Well the view was pretty good cos we are staying on the 30th floor.

After we dumped our luggage, the CEO treated us to a dinner in a restaurant. The food is DIRT CHEAP. IT IS SO CHEAP that I can’t believe it. OMG! Such sumptuous dinner only cost 500RMB, which translate to less than S$10 per person!!! But the food is super oily and salty. Actually all the food here is really salty and oily.

After dinner we went to walk around our area. Some drivers in Shanghai are unreasonable. It’s green man! The pedestrians were crossing the road! The drivers didn’t stop. Instead, they horned at us and drove past behind us immediately.

Wonder what’s the traffic light for.
