I always love HK - the food, the people, the clothing amongst others.

I'm glad I've friends to bring me to places for wonderful food, restaurants and cafe which only the local knows. Happy Valley for seafood, some street in Wan Chai for egg tarts and char siew fan, and other nice food =)

And I so heart agnes b at IFC. if i had more money i'll probably buy a few more voyage, cuff links etc... And if i had more money i'll buy a vivien westwood sling too.

And because i was feeling lazy most of the time, since this is suppose to be a relaxing trip, i didnt go swimming at kowloon park and did not visit the giant buddha. oh well next time la.. HK is near and it's a place which i will always visit.

Beetle

In a fit of anger, I killed a house beetle. It kept buzzing around me and I Threw a pillow onto it. When i flipped over the pillow, its legs got stuck onto the fabric and i shoot it off the surface with my finger.

the poor beetle hit the cupboard and died. sigh... i hope this act doesnt magnify into killing people when i become angry. i dumped the dead beetle into the bin. and said aumithuofo.

10 mins later, it resurrected from the bin and started terrorizing me.

and i saw that SIA is having a recruitment drive for cabin crew on 17 jan 09 while i was applying hair loss serum on my fringe.

and today i saw house of feng shui's pushcart in vivocity. and how the boss wanted to sue me and stuff..

wat a bad day.

KL Trip

okie.. time to update my blog a little.. i felt pretty burnt-out at work and needed to go somewhere to relax my mind. this was a pretty spontaneous 3D2N trip with dom. we've decided on KL.. i haven't been there for years, and its good to visit Pavillion, since i'm working in a shopping centre.

so we toook aeroline, supposedly a business class coach, with tagline "the convenient way to fly".. it was not what i expected. other than simple food being served on board, there was nothing too different from the usual coach.

and we checked in to grand millennium hotel, which is conveniently located beside pavillion. nice hotel. nice service. accomodating staff who kindly extended our check out time and also served the cakes we bought from secret recipe on nice plates at the lobby.

some recommendations for food:

Werner's at Changkat Bukit Bintang for German / Spanish food and the nice decor
Palate Palette @ 21 Jln Mesui for International Fusion food and to check out the arty farty people
Jln Alor for hokkien mee and oyster omelette
The Mill at Grand Millennium

anyway i wished i could eat more in 3D2N.. so many restaurants selling good food, and mostly reasonably priced.

as usual, i had many meetings today and when i reached office, i felt so drained and tired.

then i received a fone call.

"Hi good afternoon, can i speak to Alvina"

OMG I laughed so hard for at least one minute... the person ended up saying "sorry wrong number"

Had wanted to put the fone to Alvina... Anyway she needs to be destroyed. ordinary means no longer work. she requires medical intervention. Hey maternity leave is 4 months leh

I've been working for close to 3 months. Within these 2 months +, I've seen many people leaving the organisation. Imagine I was the most junior marketing person in the department. Coming End September, I'll probably be the most senior one (excluding my boss). Well, bosses move too. Even faster. This is the 3rd marketing communications manager, given this shopping centre I work in is barely 2 year old. The management office will soon be so quiet... More work coming along, with less colleagues sharing the workload.

One marketing colleague left for another place, one was head-hunted to another mall, one is going overseas with her husband, one is going on maternity leave in End Sep. Colleagues from other departments are leaving too, one after another.

You probably never know the real reason why people leave their workplace. Even when they mention it's for a better offer elsewhere, the real reason may be a different workplace culture when new bosses come in.

Human dynamics sets in. Everyone has a different working style. And I've since learnt that it is good to be really versatile and work according to the style your bosses prefer.

Its my first job, and I'm glad its a good place where I can learn alot. Anyway enough of work. Its quite never ending.

Mickey, whom I've known since Sec 1, is leaving for Hong Kong, for good. Probably not returning. We never meet him for more than 1 year because he went into some sort of hibernation. So this is the first, and last time we are meeting after his hibernation.

i havent blog in a while. partly due to work commitment. i always feel so drained everyday after work. i dunno where to start whining about work. but i need to whine about work. work is so hectic.

why is it so hectic... because i have alot of meetings.. ok if i can remember, i met national arts council this afternoon, in the morning i went to singapore tourism board for an F1 grand prix talk.

so day ago i met mediacorp, the korean embassy, some marketing companies, some singapore fashion week committee.. some this some that some everyone zzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZ

everytime i need to sit down and do my campaign proposal or marketing proposal, i am bombarded by many many many MANY MANY MANY emails. emails about advertising, emails about events, emails about this tat everytihing...

while at the same time i need to crack my brain on a marketing proposal..

this is worst than school work. much much much much more hectic than projects in nus.
as i whine, i saw a stack of work beside me. stuff which i have to settle tonight before i can sleep in peace. and i already start pasting post it note to remind myself to follow up on alot alot alot of stuff to be done tomorrow.

in terms of marketing in a retail environment, the mall i m in is the biggest mall currently. hence it is very very very happening and challenging... and there are alot alot alot of things to do to do to do to do to learn to learn to learn

i think one big lesson i would learn from working here is to be FIRM when handling people if not things will never be done..

another stuff which i learn is to be organised organised organised so that u know where everything is and how everything is going on.

anyway i have graduated!!! yay!!!! i havent blog about this. but anyway i have graduated.

I dunno what to blog about except for some stuff that happened over the week.
Maybe I should start blogging about the exciting stuff in VivoCity.
Well... work has been pretty good and I enjoy what I m doing. I'm still learning.. everyday. I'm amazed by how much I've learnt in just 2 weeks.
What else should I blog about... ok there was a Creatively Thai 2008 Fashion Show..

VivoCity is a good place to grow fat with all the free buffet etc... What else.... I met a japanese friend during one of the weekday, went to The Shore Restaurant and eM by the river with K... Ahhh nothing else. Its a tiring week. And I didnt have much time to gym. Hence I m still fat..
I can't wait for July to come, thats when my FF membership would turn 1 yr and I will switch to PF.

This whinery is getting boring.. help. Any suggestions how to spice it up?

Working Life

I've been working for like 4 days. And I've been enjoying everyday at work.

On the first day, Subway threw a mini opening ceremony and the management staff were invited for free flow of bread, cookies and drinks =)

On the second day, I met mediacorp's events marketing team and M1's promotional marketing manager.

The third day is the launch of Movie Fiesta.. Again, buffet catered from Siam Kitchen.

Today, the GM called me to his office. My marketing manager was already inside when I walked in. So I guess they have been discussing about the Christmas project which I would be handling.. After the brief meeting, he dumped stacks and stacks of files on my table. From tendering to working with ad agencies to all the SOPs etc etc etc.... And this is on top of my already heavy heavy workload. I step in to office before 830am everyday! And on most days I only leave after 7p.m.

Anyway I want to mention this shop "Red, White and Pure" at VivoCity #03-09. They are selling organic products at a 40 - 60% discount! I could get an additional 10% discount. I am new to organic product. The salesgirl was really nice... She introduced me to ALL the products in the store and I bought some stuff =) So excited to use them

I could retract my file for graduation but the thought of having to study for another year is equally dreadful.

Saigon trip

Thinking back, the most memorable sight in Vietnam would probably be the journey to Nha Trang Beach with Alex. We were on a sleeper bus and I was awaken by the bright morning sun. The sun was rising behind a mountain range, the ray shines on the wet paddy field which glisten in the sunlight. The morning sun brought light and life to the farmland. It was such picturesque scene which could possibly move any urban dwellers to tears. The Japanese lady beside me was busy snapping photos. I didnt bring my camera with me. I will go back to Saigon and to the beach again =)

Talking about the Jap lady, she was travelling with another Jap guy who is pretty good looking. I was telling Alex they are such a sweet couple. Alex didnt think they were couple cos they don't behave intimately.

And Guess what!! During the island tour at the beach, We saw the Jap couple again. Now, the guy is with another Jap guy... they are obviously AJ and the girl was tanning alone.. hehe... The Jap lady took a pic of me and Alex. I requested for her to email me the pic.. But she never understand a single bit of English... so well nvm..

Lush is a bar / club in Saigon district 1. It became too gay and the owner mandated that every male guest must be accompanied by a female guest. This absurd rule was finally abolished when patronage no. dropped. I met the owner in the club and at a German beer launch party... He is AJ too.. I wonder why he came out with this requirement. Hmmm.... Maybe the Socialist Replublic of Vietnam is not very AJ friendly and do not encourage an AJ bar... And hence there is no AJ bar in Saigon. Alex also mentioned that he is not allowed to print a topless picture on his CD cover or a on a poster because it is not allowed in the country.

The launch party was nice. The beer was good. I don't see it in the local market as yet. In the party, I get to meet some famous singers, actress, models, media people.. Most people thought I was a Vietnamese.. I met a media guy, and after much translation from Alex's friend, I understood that he came to Singapore and visited geylang for sex. I just smiled... I didnt know how to react.

I am glad that I'm really lucky to meet Alex. He is really sweet. He took time out of his busy schedule to drive me round the city in his vespa, spend time with my friends and introduce us to authentic local food... And of course, brought me to the Beach Town while singing love songs during the journey.

I've been travelling around Saigon with Alex on his Vespa while Wanjing and Gerard took a taxi. Finally found a place where I can get decent wireless network to blog =) Well, the traffic is not as scary as it seems. Just have to get used to it. In fact, riding a bike in Saigon is safer than riding a bike back in SGP.

I went to delifrance to grab a baguette to go with my mom's home cooked curry. The chocolate muffins in the bakery looked so delicious and i knew i had to buy one. hehe... I intended to keep it for breakfast but everytime i walked into the kitchen i would see the muffin and it looked so irresistable. And I ate it. At 230a.m. so delicious.. so sinful

I couldn't get to sleep so i decided to blog. I watched Dance of the Dragon on Thu and Taxidermia on Fri. The first movie was really slow... And it feels pretty amateurish. Like some school production. Taxidermia is weird. The story is about 3 generations of this dysfunctional family. Its really weird. hmmm....

I had some time to kill after Taxidermia and met a JC friend. We had coffee in spinnelli. How time flies. We were only 17/18 in JC. Six yrs! I had Thai food that night, headed to Robertson Quay for wine & port, supper at a HK cafe and stayed over at Pan Pac.

Gym on a sat afternoon was tiring. But I must persevere because I'm on this ongoing attempt to kill Alvina. That night, I went out for dinner with my friends. Some chicken penyat dish at lucky plaza. I've been reading the Travelling Hungryboy's blog http://www.eatbma.blogspot.com/ and trying out the food he recommend =) Then some clubbing again and supper at Boon Tiong Kee in Balestier.

Another gym session on a Sunday afternoon then dinner at Ichibantei at Robertson Quay and more wine. And more clubbing. Hmmm eating n drinking quite alot. Pretty unhealthy lifestyle.

Counting my blessings

I went for a checkup in Paragon Medical this afternoon and realized Alvina has grown heavier. Alvina is at least 4kg in weight now. Indeed, she would be due for delivery soon =(

And thereafter I went for an X ray at Orchard Building. Its the same clinic which I took the x ray for my SIA pre-employment checkup. I hope the radiation would kill Alvina evntually.

I took a stroll from sommerset via killeney to clarke quay and had dinner with K in this much acclaimed ramen restaurant (#02-76, Central) from Hokkaido. It is famous for the Tokusen Toroniku ramen. Probably the best ramen I've tasted.

I feel so loved by all my friends. Thanks everyone for planning the birthday dinners and present.

Very randomly, a thought came to my mind when I woke up this morning. I felt I need to START limiting my spending and to SAVE MORE money. I m quite determine to cut down spending on unnecessary stuff.

I really hated giving tuition on a sunday afternoon, especially when the horrible tasting long island tea still lingers in my throat. I felt so dehydrated and terrible going tuition with dry complexion and sleepy eyes..

And as I was explaining bearings and fractions to the two monsters, I ended up gulping 1.5litre mineral water. My students always ask why do I finish all their water and juice and milk and yakult....

Shopping for gift is such a chore. I ended up calling dom n jw n irene for advices and felt so pathetic strolling from one shopping centres to another finding something suitable for my mom. It turned out the nice stuff are too expensive and the cheap stuff are meant only for fashion victims.

Finally I went to Isetan and saw a cute coin / card purse. I thought, yeah.... This is it. Something useless and cute and simple and durable.

And thereafter begin my dreadful journey home. Arrrgh! Whineeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I still don't quite understand what's going on though the module has ended. I only remember execution strategy culture and 4 + 2 etc...... All crappy stuff la....

And I'm going down to confirm my job tomorrow. Vivo would probably be my 2nd home soon.

I have to blog about this crazy Mandarin teacher. I'm in my students' house helping them with their homework. Tuition is suppose to end at 430pm but at 4pm, the Mandarin teacher came. Apparently the mother didn't plan properly... So I m in their living room finishing up their project.

And this PRC mandarin teacher is so crazy. She kept asking “今天天气好吗”. The brothers just conveniently ignore her and she got angry and hit the table with a ruler.. and kept repeating 今天天气好吗今天天气好吗今天天气好吗 really loudly...

So crazy...

And I still feel alcohol in me.. I drank too much last nite.. And felt like a zombie during tuition... Last nite was pretty crazy... W and me went for dinner then to giraffe then to T bar then to Robertson Quay and finally to T club and we got ourselves so drunk with B52 Port Red Martini and Long Island.

No more alcohol for me.. its making my reaction very slow

Oh how I love my student life though I hate sch =) I think I'm going to miss this lifestyle when I graduate in May. I've a lecture every friday from 12 to 2pm but I've never once attended it... So today I stayed home in the morning to cook a simple aglio olio dish and did some research on Microsoft and the Esplanade...

By 3pm, I took a nice long shower, dressed up and went to Bukit Timah to give tuition. I dunno how long I could continue teaching. I would probably be too busy when I start working? But I don't want to give up my tuition assignments because the kids are so fun to be with and tuition brings in good money...

So after giving tuition I went to Bali Lane for an OG gathering.. time flies. We met during Arts camp 3 years ago. Now some of us are graduating and some have started working. If we were to meet up next year in June, everyone would have graduated already =) Blu Jaz serves really nice food at reasonable price. And the desert at MOF was tooo sweet..

Thereafter I went Chinatown for a KTV session with my friends from the Entrepreneur Society.

And finally hop over to my usual clubbing places. It was really fun. From P club to T bar to T club back to P club and finally supper at M hawker centre haha =) Dark chocolate martini at T bar is really nice.. I guess whenever I am in that area I would go for a glass of martini.

Yesterday after clubbing, I started thinking if I am just a convenient bf... I randomly hooked up a person on the dancefloor and this person introduced me as a BF to other clubbers. I don't even remember this person's name now. All I know is that this person's pretty good looking and is a chinese muslim. This is not the first time such incident happened to me. These days some people just take the word bf too lightly.

Damm my family doc only opens on 17th Feb but I had to grab some antibiotics for my inflamed throat. Hence I went to another clinic nearby. The consultaton+medicine cost me $65! I felt it was so unnecessary that the doc took my height n weight n blood pressure etc...!
Am on MC today.. and Whine i cant believe it! My pair of havaianas' broke when I went out to ta bao lunch at J8. The strap on the right flip-flop came off just when I walked passed Long John Silver.
I tried to fix it there and then but couldn't. Instead I attracted stares from this group of girls from Bishan ITE.
It was argh.. soO unglam.
I had to drag my feet to 77th street just to get a new pair of slippers. I requested for the cheapest pair but it didnt have my size. Only Billabong has size 10. It didnt fit well too.. I realised my left foot is slightly longer than my right one. And the slippers' $22.90. So expensive!
All these hidden and unexpected cost...

Almost every CNY is filled with surprises! Today's the 2nd day of CNY and the relatives came over to my place...

In the early afternoon, a distant uncle came.. And he brought along his wife from the Shen Yang province of China. Oooh...

And I realised both my aunt (mother's side) and cousin (dad's side) are working in the same bank! They didnt know that we are all "relatives"... She's the head of the credit dept while he's the head of private banking.

And another cousin....................... Ahhhh She's with the Valiram Grp, which carries all the luxury brands u can possibly think of (Mont Blanc, coach, hugo boss, cartier, bottega, jimmy choo etc..) with the exception of LV and a few others... Best is she gets 30% discount! which also applies to discounted items!!!!!! She became my best cousin today.

Yay its CNY... and its the Rat year.. I'm turning 24 soon. My lappie fell sick last December. And the person who spoil it.. u know who u r... bleah

I sent it to the comp centre to get it repaired 2 days ago. And it cost $16 just to get it reformatted!

The past few weeks were filled with ups and downs.. Let me recall.. Ok it started with the modules thing.. but eventually I got all the modules (ops mgmt and services mkt) I appealed for. And the Korean mom increased the no. of lessons.. Every lessons I would get free flow of juice / milk and cakes from Le Bijoux.. Whats more... home made Korean pancake and soup etc...

And I must mention her crocodile skin Hermes Birkin bag... U cant buy it off the shelf and the waiting list is at least a few months long.. And its going for US$52,000 at http://getluxe.com/hermes-crocodile-bags/ And not to mention her CD Bag.. oh so niceeee

Anyway Just when I thought I was dammm unlucky I met a nice friend and we went on a nice short trip to JB. My not so secret anymore, secret admirer sent me gifts via my friend who stays in PGP.. So sweet...

But when I thought everything was going fine... I did the most horrible thing.. Mike made chocolate truffles and placed them in a nice crystal glass. I left the glass of choc behind the fridge door. The glass fell over and broke =( It was his 21st Bdae gift.. And its crystal... Some truffles were stained with crystal glass and we wanted to give it to NC! We thought we should snap some pics and blog abt the lovely crystal. His chocolate truffles were really nice

And Mark introduced some really nice young friends and we hang out together at Chinatown... I'm usually mixing with ppl my age or older.. Anyway I felt really old that nite. Photos from Alexis.

And not forgetting the students from PKU!! We went to Sentosa and Orchard Rd... And I arranged their tour at Cityhall / Clarke Quay and finally a farewell party at Global Sound Cafe in Smith Street. It was tiring but very fun =)

Jan hasnt been smooth for me at all.. In fact, i'm still appealing for modules which are essential for graduation. I am tormented with anxieties since last week as I was outbidded for all my business mods in every round during CORS registration. Further more, I'm not sure if the appeal would be successful. There's only so much I could do to bug the lecturers to support my appeal and speak to them to raise my concern etc...

Outside of school, things are not smooth either. The Korean mom has decided to discontinue my tuition for her twin children.

And I remembered feeling feverish on 2 occasions this month.

Wow so much horrible stuff happened. Went to sit in for a marketing research seminar today though i didnt secure the module... Still managed to smile for a picture in canteen today.

time flies... first week of december is nearly gone. but i dont want to blog about the good and bad of this yr... this sort of post will come later..

sometimes i wish i didnt join the entrepreneurial society..i joined mainly because they r going to Beijing and i can hop over to shanghai to visit friends..

so i went for an interview and strangely i got in cos i was performing half heartedly as i was interviewed by 3 PRCs.. i wasnt quite expecting the large no. of PRCs in this CCA group.

And with all the commitments, not so fun ppl, not so ideal marketing strategy and i duno.. maybe i'm just feeling tired.

the companies we will be visiting are samsung.. lenovo etc.. they don't interest me.. i would feel at least alittle more excitied if we're visiting advertising firms... and seminars in PKU... the thought of it makes me want to fall asleep.

And as usual, it was shopping and food today... and i have to start packing tml for the trip. I'm really happy to hang around friends and just chat.. anything and everything that we can think of spontaneously...

when i reached home, my sis asked why didnt i go Zouk Out... haha...

school's out for a few days already... and i've been spending my time catching up with friends, shopping, giving tuition and resting.

bought a timberland jacket and a bodum's coffee press for myself... my christmas present hehe...

and lets see...over the past few days.. i think it started with Alan, dinner at crystal jade then drinks at starbucks... and i met josh and his korean friend for a drink...then ben for soup... david for french food, tai song for jap food etc etc etc... i remembered eating alot and growing fatter.

and i had more jap food today...so happy to see irene and ernest hehe.. although we're in the same sch, we seldom meet up. the food is pretty good... and josh joined us for a drink at pan pac lobby... the singer and pianist were really good.

And thanks sista for the tuition kids.. remember to drink more shark attack next time we chill out..

Yes.. she's my next blk neighbour.. an 83 y.o lady... she was crossing the road to take a bus to the market to meet her daughter for dinner.. the market is one bus stop away..

probably her legs are too weak to walk that distance..

the traffic police said she did not use the traffic light hence the motorcyclist isnt at fault...

but for 16 years staying in Bishan, i never use the traffic light too because it is simply too far away.. bad traffic design...

anyway the motorcyclist, an 18 yo boy, will feel guilty for the rest of his life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this incident will haunt him forever!!!

a traffic accident happened at the road in front of my house. it involved a motorcyclist and an old lady. i was in a car when i saw the old lady lying on the road, eyes open, in a pool of blood.. she died.

I think i need to start disciplining myself to study.. everytime i scroll through my msn list, i would see ppl's nick - - rushing essay or busy with this proj or that etc.. but i m so slack.. i m doing nothing.. and not studying!

simply wasting my time away.. but well at least i printed my lecture notes and some online readings so i should be ready to start next wk..

today i met some ppl in different occupations.... a designer who gave me 4 pairs of sun glasses, and his friend, a hypnotherapist for dinner..

hmm hypnotherapy... $200 per session.. about 1-2 hrs per session.. i'm quite skeptical about its effects but she said people could quit smoking and solve many other problems with the help of hypnotherapy..no harm trying

then we went over to the ritz carlton lobby for drinks... its a nice place... and i met this girl and her friend whose family own the famous biscuits company in Singapore..biscuits which i buy for old folks home when i was in jc haha..

and his friend who is a doctor from HK who came to Sgp for a conference..

sometimes i wonder what lies ahead of me... these days, the people i come into contact are really successful in the things they do.. what would i be? the future is so uncertain...

i'm pretty glad i went to school today although i really didnt want to go. josh was in nus too and he bought me coffee powder from bali =)
i went for a project meeting. the project was... i dont want to say anymore. this is probably the only project that i felt ashamed of because it was a bad start. anyway i just aim to get a C since that is the minimum requirement to get a "satisfacory" grade as i m s/uing it.after the project meeting, i went to the CNM office to visit Dr. Millie went with my entrepreneurship society president.
Dr Millie is giving us some cash money out of goodwill to sponsor our trip to China. Well although its a small amount, we're really glad. we bought oreo cheesecake for her in return.i bumped into the lecturer who called me power babe and she said my group's research paper was very well written.i bumped into Gene, who's a really nice lecturer. i asked her if halcyon is leaving nus. she said "yes, thats very sad".
irene had previuously told me that halcyon was leaving nus through msn.i had wanted to go to halcyon's office to have a chat with her, but she wasn't in her office. i feel really down and sad when i heard she is leaving nus. i dunno y. perhaps i felt a connection with her. she is the only lecturer whom i could walk into her office and whine and i m really open with her during our conversation.
she is a person whom i feel comfortable enough to tell her some of my thoughts which i would never share with other lecturers..i took a module on media writing when i was in yr 2. halcyon was one of the tutors introduced by the course lecturer. when i saw her, i thought she looked really unique and special. i guess this is called the connection moment. And she became my tutor. so this is fate. although i didnt enjoy her tutorial lessons as she was very very anal with writing style, but with her, all good things seem to come. my media writing article was published on TCO and she was my academic advisor for an internship module. i was one of the first few students who map an internship to a module. she also actively recommend me all sorts of internship when i voiced my concern about my indecisiveness as to what to work as in future. it is really sad that everything seemed so transient. i mentioned this to josh over msn and he said people come and go, including him.And this reminded me of the many people whom i had known, but whom i had lost along the way. Perhaps these people may not seem significant to me, but i do not know how they feel.likewise, halcyon may think that i m just one of her students, but i feel really down when i know she is leaving. often, many stuff are not within our control. this relates to the movie i just watched with jinwei mark and josh. Lust, Caution. besides the lead actress superb acting skill, and her determination to kill the lead actor , she was finally moved by his true love and did not murder him in the end. sometime feelings just run wild... sigh.. i dunno. i just hope i could meet halcyon before she leaves for the USA. she has told me that she is a PR practioner, and not an academic. i guess she felt its time for her to move on as she may not progress much in NUS. perhaps when u decide to move to the greener pasture, u have to be prepared to leave behind many relationships you've forged. this reminded me of wanjing who stay put in HSA because of her friends, and Nick who remains in Mt Elizabeth after so many years as he enjoyed his companionship with his colleagues. although they may have better career prospect elsewhere. but there are also people like someone whom i knew who mentioned that changes are no big deal as he has lived in the uk and malaysia and singapore and friends come and go.i dunno.... haiya getting too long winded..

I was studying for an exam with a backache... And I felt so pathetic..

Mike called and said he baked some fruits tarts and wanted to pass some to me. But I couldn't walk to meet him at J8 and hence he met me at the bus stop beside my blk. So sweet of him..

The thickness of the crust is just right. A bite into the vanilla filling in the berries tarts gives a sense of blissfulness..

The lemon tarts were heavenly too... The filling was overwhelmed with lemony flavour but and it was not too sour.

Overall they were really excellent as everything seem to be just right. the sweetness, the sourness and thickness of the crust.

U'll feel happy and delighted eating them. The last time I tasted nice pastry so delicious was in The Marmalade Pantry and Corduroy & Finch.

Power babe is a pitiful babe.

One day when he was chopping onions to prepare his linguine aglio olio, he sneezed too hard and heard a crack sound on his lower back.

Immediately, he felt a piercing pain on his lower back and couldn't stand up straight.

A doctor he consulted refered him to the A&E in SGH... But he couldn't go cos he has an assignment due by tue and an exam on wed.

Hence, this "emergency" case could only be dealt with on Wed..

The doctor who wrote the referal letter opened her eyes big big in shock... She said "you explain to the emergency dept why u took so long to go"... hehe...

Power babe then emailed his favourite tutor in business school and told him that he is on 3 days mc. His fav tutor extended his assignment deadline and mentioned he would miss the babe's presence in class =)

Anyway power babe was bored at home as he didnt dare to leave his house.

He's scared he would fall and not get up. SO embarrasing for a power babe.

Ooooooh today's such a busyyyy day... busy rushing from places to places! I was suppose to wake up at 10a.m. to tidy up a f***ing data analysis but I woke up at 12p.m.

A guest lecturer spoke about the creative industries worldwide and subsequetly showed a webpage which contains girly cartoon pictures. After she was done with the presentation, Dr. Chung Pei Chi, the course lecturer took over.

Dr Chung asked "who would like to play the girly cartoon game"... And she was looking in my direction. Naturally, I knew I had to answer. So I said "I don't mind".

Thereafter, she started calling me names like Power Babe and Bitch during lecture!!!! Because these are the names of the cartoon characters.

The food at FTP is really good. the standard is pretty consistent. probably one of the best thai food in SGP.

oh man today's such a bad day sigh it started well with a study session with ray and irene. and some shopping. and snacks at nydc. but it ended horribly... on my way to cityhall mrt, this irritating lady from nus marketing dept called me. she was so rude. and i was in a "whatever" mood. so i didnt really care.

she called because we submitted our project late and were told to meet the prof. when one of my proj mate went to look for him this afternoon, he isnt in his office. And the prof thought the member stood him up.

(pls la... so what if u r a professor and your ass sits in the dean's office? it doesnt mean we have to adhere to the timing u set w/o U consulting us in advance. And hello.. this is mid semester break. i do not have the luxury of time to travel down to nus just to meet u! I had better things to do!)

ok so the irritating lady connected the call to my prof who mentioned that our reason for submitting the project late is not good enough. whatever la... your instructions were not clear in the first place. go brush up your english!

And Mark koh, although i plan to s/u this module and hence prioritise other projects before this, i believe i did my fair share of work!

i went to give tuition, went gym. sigh its so sad. my favourite (and they happen to be the cutest) body combat and body pump instructors wont be in FF amk for the next 3 months. whine.. no motivation to go gym already..

whats more, i was having food with jinwei at amk when we saw our body combat instructor eating with a fellow FF member.. she was in the body combat class earlier... =(

so after gym, i came home and ate half a steamed fish and 2 chilli padi and a can of tiger classics while begging people on my MSN to do up surveys!

I think i said something stupid in class today =( its a social work module which i m reading.. we formed a group of 3 to chat among ourselves.

The tutor asked "From the chatting session, what do u discover about yourself". When it was my turn to answer, I said "I realised that I really love to Whine". OMG... and i thougt to myself... so bimbotic.

Anyway this tutorial was so silly too. One of the task was to maintain eye contact with a person for 30secs. thereafter, u would have to describe what that person is trying to "speak" through his body language / eyes.

I felt so sick and irritated writing script for my MNO video and doing research for culture industries... So I've decided to stop doing these...

I started scrolling through my i tunes library and listen to songs by Beyond.. Beyond was a famous rock band in Hong Kong that was founded in 1983.

Wong Ka-Kui, the lead singer of Beyond, fell off a three-meter platform head first while filming a game show for Fuji Television in Japan. He died after being in coma for one week.

I only started appreciating and fell in love with Wong Ka Kui, Anita Mui and Leslie Cheung's music after their death.

Recently, I've been plagued by the idea that I'll be left on the shelf. I felt worried and started seeking solace in friends. Irene and I were talking (whining) about our singlehood. Its not as if we have nothing good to offer.... we r not that bad... come on.. but why are we still single? are we too picky? are we not destined to fall in love? we concluded that perhaps we are too good for anyone else and no one can match up to us (yeah right)... but hey i m still single.. oh noooooo

when i see lynn in arts canteen, i'll asked her if she has someone in mind to introduce to me.. she said all very ugly... cannot intro....

and almost everyone i see in sch or on msn....i'll ask them to introduce someone to me.. oh my i sounded so desperate...

and on sunday times today, sumiko tan (my favourite columnist) mentioned that woman needs a man.. w/o a man, her life isn't complete.. and she started whining about going dinner alone... watching couples all around her in a restaurant etc..

and yes i can relate to her bcos i see all my friends around me getting attached... not all but a significant number of them.

and so i seek advise from a friend who is a tarot card reader. (of course he didnt know that i was feeling desperate because i havent talked to him for months).

Q1) i asked about my love life in general.

the cards showed that I am currently moving away from r/s and leaving people on the shelf... I don't want to face any r/s and will avoid the issue... I felt bored and am rushing into something unknown.... there is no proper order or sequence when i do things....i am moving to somewhere peaceful.. And then The Lovers card appeared!!! Soon, in 2 months time, I'll have several choices to make. I may make impulsive choices and I have to be careful... The last card showed that I have to be more passionate and active in a r/s.

and Q2) i asked if a long distance r/s will work out..

the card showed that i'm trapped in something which has no good ending and that I never acknowledge anything and let my feelings flow freely and that as I try to depart and walk away from a r/s I felt more stress and empty. However!!!!! The last card is a celebration card which means happy moments..

Perhaps distance and uncertainty could be a beautiful thing too =)

Qin Ning's 21st Bdae

I sent in my resume to NUS Entrepreneurship Society to apply for a 10 day entrepreneurial exchange with 北京大学.. And went for an interview... And I received an email that I was selected. It'll be on 11th Dec '07.

Hence, yeah... I'm now a member with NUSES! And here comes the commitment. There will be meeting on every wed for the next 5 months. I'm always afraid, and cannot handle commitments well. My previous CCAs would illustrate this point.

Anyway the Beijing trip would be sponsored by Peking Uni. The committee has planned a trip to Shanghai too, on our own expenses. Since I've made plans to visit my friends in Shanghai this coming Dec, this exchange came just at the right time. I might extend my stay in Shanghai till 26th Dec and spend a winter christmas there =)

So I dragged myself to school for an NUSES meeting, then went over to Central Library and spent 2 hours photocopying 3 textbooks for one of my module.

Thereafter I met Carol. Together, we went for Qin Ning's birthday party. It was nice... 21st birthday are always filled with fun, laughter and beautiful memories.

Suppose to meet Alex after Qin Ning's bdae.. but he did not pick up my call, didnt reply my sms as well.. I thought something bad might have happened. So I left the party with Carol... took a bus... she alighted at her house while I continued riding to City Hall. Walked over to Liang Seah's Caesar bar to meet my army friends and girlfriends for a long chit chat session....

Thereafter met Winson.....

This morning i received an sms from Alex... he fell asleep last night and forgot to meet me. Oh well..

And its Sunday today. Just did a tutorial exercise. Sch just makes me depress. Sigh.. its week 4 tomorrow. And my readings are still at week 1 or 2. Sigh................................................................. I just hope this sem would end smoothly with an improvement in my CAP score... Sigggggghhhhhh
